Eid Tag In What Ear?

Eid Tag In What Ear?

Recommendation

There appears to be confusion in what ear an EID tag needs to be placed. What is the animals right? What is its left? We prefer to use the terms Nearside or Offside Nearside is: right hand side if you are facing the animal left hand side if you are sitting on the animal like on a horse Offside is: left hand side if you are facing the animal right hand side if you are sitting on the animal like on a horse EID tags are preferable placed in the Offside ear... readers and other equipment are generally placed and designed so that it works best offside. All Australian tags are placed offside. All other commercial reading systems like at the yards and meat works are offside.. so if you place tags in the wrong ear... there is likely to be issues. Get a good head bail and use an Animal Control Unit Pacifier to get those tags in ezy.
